FLYBOARD WORLD CUP
The Flyboard World Cup is the event of the year, organized by Zapata Racing, where Flyboard athletes from all over the world compete for the World Champion titles.
FLYBOARD WORLD CUP 2012

The first Flyboard World Cup was held in 2012, Doha,Qatar. 50 Flyboard athletes from 21 countries where competing for the title.
Stephane Prayas (France) took the first World Champion title, Petter Berglund (USA) became second, and Trey Andrews (USA) took the third place.
Stephany Wells (Canada) was the first competing ladies pro, and ended up with a very nice 12th place.

In 2013 the second Flyboard World Cup was held in Doha, Qatar. 70 Flyboard athletes from all over the world where competing. History was made by Suksan Tongthai (Thailand) performing the first double backflip at the tournament. The title went to Suksan Tongthai (Thailand), Cooper Riggs (USA) became second, and the third place went to Ben Merel (USA).
Oceane Corbet (France) was the best ladies pro, and ended up with the 18th place.

XDUBAI FLYBOARD WORLD CUP 2014

In 2014 the Flyboard World Cup found base in Dubai, in cooperation with XDubai for the coming 5 years. The official name for the tournament becomes XDUBAI FLYBOARD WORLD CUP. For the first time there is a ladies and veterans division added to the tournament. More than 70 pro riders from 28 different nations where ready to compete. Included 3 qualified athletes, trained by Flyboarding Cyprus.
For the ladies division, Andria Ioannou (Dherinia) and Petra Wijnker (Ayia Napa). For the veterans division, Nikolas Zannetos (Larnaca) and Petra Wijnker (Ayia Napa).
History was made by Suksan Tongthai (Thailand), performing the triple backflip at the tournament. The title in the pro division went to Suksan Tongthai (Thailand). Damone Rippy (USA) became second, and the third place went to Jake Orel (USA)
In the ladies division the title went to Da Yeob Emily Kim (South Korea). Stephanie Wells (Canada) became second, and the third place went to Yolanda Baker (USA). Both Flyboarding Cyprus athletes made it to the quarter finals.
In the veterans division the title went to Laurent Calliot (France). Martin von Steednik (Sweden) became second, and the third place went to Dong-Won Yang (South Korea). Petra Wijnker (Flyboarding Cyprus) made it into the quarter finals.

In the XDubai Flyboard World Cup, Hover board was added to the tournament as an demonstration sport. Hunter Verlander (USA) made history by performing the first quad backflip. In the pro division the title went to Hunter Verlander (USA). Jake Orel (USA) became second, and the third place went to Cooper Riggs (USA).
In the ladies division the title went to Gemma Weston (New Zealand). Haruka Asano (Japan) became second, and the third place went to Kristen Smoyer (USA).
In the veterans division the title went to Todd Sawisch (USA). Dong-Won Yang ( South Korea) became second, and the third place went to Ali Komsusu (Turkey).
For preparation towards the XDubai FlyboardWorld Cup 2015, 2 pro Flyboard athletes made their training at Flyboarding Cyprus. Petr Civin (Czech Republic) ranked 13th, and Sergey Philoppov (Russia) ranked 27th.
